The Three Little Pigs
Once upon a time, there were three little pigs who set out to build their own houses. The first little pig built his house out of straw because it was the easiest to make. The second little pig built his house out of sticks because it was a bit stronger. The third little pig worked hard and built his house out of bricks.
One day, a big bad wolf came along. He saw the first pig’s straw house and knocked on the door. “Little pig, little pig, let me come in!” he said. “Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!” cried the little pig. So the wolf huffed and he puffed and he blew the house down! The first little pig ran as fast as he could to his brother’s stick house.
The wolf followed and knocked on the door of the stick house. “Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!” “Not by the hair on our chinny chin chins!” cried the two pigs. So the wolf huffed and puffed and blew the stick house down! The two pigs ran to their brother’s brick house.
The wolf came to the brick house and said again, “Little pigs, little pigs, let me come in!” But the pigs replied, “Not by the hair on our chinny chin chins!” So the wolf huffed and puffed, but he could not blow the brick house down. He tried and tried until he was out of breath.
Then the clever third little pig said, “You can try all you like, but you’ll never get in!” The wolf, furious, decided to climb down the chimney. But the pigs had a pot of boiling water waiting at the bottom! The wolf fell in with a splash and ran away howling, never to bother the three little pigs again.
From that day on, the three little pigs lived happily ever after, safe and warm in their strong brick house.
